Prof.Dr. Nguyễn Hữu Đức - VNU Vice President, Dr. Nguyễn Đức Huy - VNU UED Vice Rector, and Dr. Michael Jackson - Founder and Ambassador of Sharping Tomorrow, UK, co-chaired the workshop.

Attending the workshop were about 200 managers, scientists, graduate students, entrepreneurs from universities, research institutes, businesses; and domestic and foreign specialists in innovative entrepreneurship.

Speaking at the workshop, VNU UED Vice Rector Nguyễn Đức Huy emphasized that the objective of the seminar was to help educators and entrepreneurs better understand creativity and development of creative capacity for learners, workers and organizations. The workshop also aimed at sharing how entrepreneurs around the world had been developing startup business ideas.

According to UED Vice Rector Nguyễn Đức Huy, the workshop attempted to create a cooperative relationship between educators and entrepreneurs from both inside and outside the country to promote more research and innovative startup models in the field of human capacity development in Vietnam.

In his paper entitled "Intelligent university model based on innovative invention approach for Vietnam", VNU Vice President Nguyễn Hữu Đức said that the 4.0 industrial revolution marked the pinnacle of human civilization where inventions based on the Internet of things and artificial intelligence were creating miracles that had been thought to exist only in science fiction, for human life.

VNU Vice President Nguyễn Hữu Đức also said that innovation had become the number one priority among the competencies required for the revolution. In order for this revolution to happen, every nation, every organization must have the following key elements in place: the creative leader with 4.0 vision; Human resources with the 4.0 skills and synchronous infrastructure for the invention, creativity to flourish.

Most countries, business and educational institutions around the world are preparing relevant conditions to make use of the revolution’s achievements as well as to develop it.

As a concluding remark, VNU Vice President Nguyễn Hữu Đức warned that the 4.0 revolution would also bring a lot of challenges to hard-hit countries like Vietnam.
