Deputy Prime Minister Vương Đình Huệ attends HUS High School for Gifted Students New school year Opening ceremony
On September 5, 2017, Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister Vương Đình Huệ attended VNU HUS High School for Gifted Students 2017-2018 New school year Opening ceremony. The Deputy PM also presented flowers to the school’s teachers and gave awards to the five students who had gained outstanding achievements at the 2017 International Olympiads.

VNU Vice President Nguyễn Hữu Đức also attended the Ceremony and delivered a speech.

At the ceremony, President Trần Đại Quang’s Letter of Congratulation for the new school year was read to the delegates and the school’s teachers and students. The school’s teachers and students expressed their determination to teach and study well to build Vietnam into a globally powerful nation as taught by President Ho Chi Minh.

HUS High School for Gifted Students Principal Lê Công Lợi said that the school, previously known as Mathematics class A0, with more than 50 years of tradition, was the nurturer of talented people, preparing high quality human resources for the national construction and development. The School Principal reminded the students of the pride in their good traditions while keeping their enthusiasm in learning and training to increase their contribution to the development of the School in particular and of the country in general.

Addressing the ceremony, VNU Vice President Nguyễn Hữu Đức sent his warm thanks to Deputy Prime Minister Vương Đình Huệ for his special concern and encouragement and believed that the Deputy PM’s new school year launching drum would light up the enthusiasm of generations of the school’s teachers and students, encourage them to continue to contribute to the education and training innovation.

VNU Vice President Nguyễn Hữu Đức said that over the past 52 years, HUS High School for Gifted Students had promoted the unique strengths of the school development model within a fundamental science university, attracting the nation’s leading scientists’ participation in lecturing and transmitting their passion and ambition to nurture young talents in the traditional basic sciences.

"With the school’s teachers and students’ efforts together with VNU’s strengths, we will continue to promote the school’s traditions. The students of HUS High School for Gifted Students are to study and train better for future start up business success," VNU Vice President Nguyễn Hữu Đức said.

Visiting the school’s Hall of Traditions, Deputy Prime Minister Vương Đình Huệ expressed his pride in the school’s teachers and students’ desire for knowledge and good teaching. He hoped that the school would focus on developing its own curriculum in order to maximize the student's academic performance in developing talents, personal interests, holistic strength and quality.
