VNU and Claude Bernard University Lyon 1 (France): Developing master training cooperation in information technology
On October 9, 2017, VNU President Nguyễn Kim Sơn had a meeting with Claude Bernard University Lyon 1 delegation led by Prof. Hélène Courtois - Vice President in charge of International relations.

Attending the meeting were VNU International Francophone Institute (VNU-IFI) Director Ngô Tự Lập, and representatives of VNU functional departments.

At the meeting, Prof.  Hélène Courtois highly appreciated the graduate informatics training in French at VNU-IFI. She believed that the cooperation with VNU-IFI would contribute to promoting the development of the Francophone community, as English was gradually becoming dominant in the number of learners, not only in France or Vietnam but also in the world.

Informing that VNU IFI was currently planning to export its IT training program to Francophone African countries, VNU President Nguyễn Kim Sơn emphasized the importance of cooperation in teaching with French universities. He also expressed his wish that Claude Bernard University Lyon 1 would support VNU-IFI in developing and implementing doctoral programs in the future.

Prof. Hélène Courtois supports the idea of exporting the training program to Africa and stressed the need of intensive preparation in the fields of Information Technology, Medicine, etc.

At the meeting, the leaders of the two universities also discussed the implementation of the Master of Information Technology degree, majored in Data transmission and Computer networking as well as staff/students exchange activities.
