11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis

- The study bring out the overall view of supplied water storage widespread in households and residents’ complexes in almost Vietnamese urban areas; and showed that storage ways of splied water could be brought a potential dangers of toxic nitrogenous compounds by re-contamination and transformation of those compounds during storage periods.

- The first time in Vietnam deal with biochemical processes occured in water storing ways in household-scale and make clearer several problems of ammonium contamination and transformation of nitrogenous compounds in stored water together with the existence and the effects of some nitrogen-transforming microorganisms in different ways of water storage.

- The pilot study results of the dissertation were essential data for proposals of ammonium and nitrogenous compounds mitigation in suplied water during storage periods.  12. The real applicability:

The problem found out together with the results of the dissertation contribuite to change the point of view and awareness of people about suplied water storage forms widespread in Vietnam and to community health protection.     The proposed measures for ammoium and other nitrogenous compounds mitigation in suplied water storage in fifferent forms could be applied immediately in householdsand in residents complex. The dissertation results are real data help to solve the ammoium and other nitrogenous compounds contamination problems during supplied water storage not only in urban area but in other area in all Vietnam.

13. Further research directions:

- Further study on the transformation and vảiation of nitrogen compounds in relation to the disinfectants of water supply.

- Further spread study to evaluate ammonium contamination in diferent suplied water sources under influences of storage environments, different microorganisms and  water users approach.

- Further continue study on water using manners of different class of residents; effects of weather, climate on the stored water quality and proposal of storage devices, storage form to reduce negative impacts in areas where there is high ammonium concentration in suplied water.
