On September 5, 2022, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended the opening ceremony of the academic year 2022-2023 at VNU HUS High School for Gifted Students.

 

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc beats the drum to launch the new 2022-2023 academic year

With the mission of an important cradle for talent cultivating, VNU HUS High School for Gifted Students is gradually becoming a typical model for the talent training system of the country. Up to September 2022, the named school has won 275 medals, including 69 Gold medals, 81 Silver medals and 71 Bronze medals at the international Olympiads and 54 medals at the regional Olympiads in Mathematics, Informatics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc praised the achievements gained by teachers and students of 5 specialized streams of Hanoi University (formerly) and VNU HUS High School for Gifted Students (currently), who have worked hard to cultivate talents over the past 57 years.

To successfully fulfil the tasks of the new academic year, the State leader asked the educational sector to speed up the fundamental and comprehensive reform of education and training.

Based on the success of VNU HUS High School for Gifted Students and many other specialized schools, the President requested the Ministry of Education and Training and the whole education sector to pay attention to renewing the model of specialized schools to train more and more national and international excellent students as well as to discover and foster talents for the future of the country.

The President also requested the teachers and students of VNU HUS High School for Gifted Students to better their teaching and learning.

At the ceremony, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc presented gifts to 8 students with excellent achievements at the International Olympiads.

VNU President Le Quan awarded certificates of merit to 3 students with high achievements in the 2022 regional and international Informatics Olympiad and 5 teachers with achievements in discovering and fostering good students in Informatics.
