VNU-specific education model for all first-year students studying in Hoa Lac is comprehensive in three aspects: Physically strong – Mentally powerful - Good in social skills. The objective of the project is to create fundamental changes in awareness, attitude, behavior, skills, learning methods, training and experiences of VNU training units’ freshmen living and studying in Hoa Lac; create conditions for students to quickly adapt to the university-level learning environment in a green, comfortable, large-scale university town and provide all necessary conditions to serve, cater for and support students, thereby contributing to improving the quality of training, forming a unique brand, spreading the outstanding quality of the training "products" in VNU town in Hoa Lac.

Under the comprehensive education model, students will be trained in full competencies, including global citizenship (fluent in the national language and foreign languages at work), digital competence (fluent in using digital tools to improve work quality), adaptive capacity (teamwork skills, leadership skills, self-created competence and self-management, empathic listening skills, impressive writing skills, persuasive communication skills, self-development skills, self-care skills, etc.) and innovation capacity (design thinking, critical thinking, among others) to create momentum for their success at work and in later life.

The project’s components aim to support first-year students studying in Hoa Lac to develop comprehensively in skills, physical features, thinking, capacity, personal and professional qualities; information technology application ability, self-response to change; deep culture understanding, initiative spirit, self-study, self-research, innovation, and responsibility towards oneself, family, school, community, etc.

The comprehensive educational program for first-year students in VNU town in Hoa Lac focuses on 5 main types of content:

1. Innovating the content of subjects in the physical education and sports program for freshmen in accordance with the space and conditions of facilities in VNU town in Hoa Lac;

2. Supplementing and strengthening extra-curricular activities, training and practicing essential skills for freshmen;

3. Promoting and creating space to develop student clubs in VNU town in Hoa Lac;

4. Strengthening support and psychological counseling for students;

5. Innovating the content and methods of organizing and implementing the program of the new academic year Open Week for students studying in Hoa Lac from the QH.2023 course onwards.
