At the Student Conference on the Future of the Earth held by Nikkei STEAM in Japan in July 2022, VNU Vietnam Japan University (VJU) was honored to be present with the participation of 5 students from the Master's program of Business Administration (MBA), including Ms. Pham Truc Quynh, Ms. Nguyen Thi Duyen Anh, Mr. Nguyen Manh Duy, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Phuong and Ms. Le Phuong Thuy.

The conference is a place where Japanese and international students propose practical, highly applicable solutions and bring great social value to protect the environment as well as the future of the Earth. Solutions can cover all areas of life such as population reform, afforestation, energy, food, etc. With the urgency of the theme, this year's conference has attracted the participation of many students from Japan, Australia, Malaysia, Brunei, Vietnam…

Attending the Conference with the name Etsu Color, 5 students of VJU brought a new solution to the problem of handling domestic waste, especially in big cities. Accordingly, many programs of the Government and NGOs in Vietnam are dealing with recycling; However, most of existing solutions focus on the consumers and the everyday citizens, who use goods and directly generate domestic waste. Meanwhile, Etsu Color's idea is to solve the problem by providing financial support to garbage pickers and giving them the opportunity to develop waste collection as a trade career instead of a stigmatized job.

The micro loan program will be conducted with requirements for the recycling workers to attend training regarding the requirements for proper recycling system, the etiquette to keep the city clean, the application of new technology to acquire business opportunities and the tools and other access for additional funding where they can expand their business. The seed money from the program will support the living conditions of these people and promote the training for better recycling procedures.

With high feasibility, Etsu Color's proposal has conquered the jury and the audience of the conference to become one of the best projects and received awards and medals from the organizers.
