Developing typical innovative and pioneering training models to meet the requirements of Industry 4.0

VNU continuously innovates training methods and develops interdisciplinary training programs to promote its overall strength, to meet the needs of society and the requirements of Industry 4.0. In the context of global competition and integration, highly qualified human resources need appropriate knowledge, competencies, and skills to meet both job and integration requirements.

VNU's mission is to pioneer innovation in the Vietnamese higher education system. In response to the need of high-quality human resources to serve research, management and contribute to socio-economic development, national security and integration, VNU is exhaustively mobilizing its scientists to develop new and modern training programs.

In the past year, VNU developed 8 new undergraduate programs, namely FinTech and Digital Business, Industrial Engineering and Logistics Systems, Applied Information Technology (VNU International School); Smart and Sustainable Urban Management, Leisure and Events Management (VNU School of Interdisciplinary Studies); Smart Agriculture and Sustainability, Civil Engineering (VNU Vietnam-Japan University); and Artificial Intelligence (VNU University of Engineering and Technology). These are interdisciplinary, pioneering, key training programs that meet the requirements of Industry 4.0 and to promote the combined strengths of VNU.

VNU’s new training programs were strongly promoted and showed a shift in the structure of degrees (from basic sciences to professional ones). Students enrolled in these training programs are fully equipped with specialized knowledge with a focus on increasing the amount of practical time and learning through first-hand experience in laboratories, companies and groups operating in the fields of engineering, administration/management, business and agriculture. The launching of the training programs linked with digital transformation will create a diversity of occupations, updated and accessive to advanced training disciplines in the world, in line with the integration goals and progress of Industry 4.0.

In the previous academic year, VNU appraised and issued 13 training programs, including 3 undergraduate programs, 3 combined bachelor's/master's programs, 5 master’s programs, and 2 doctoral programs; assigned the task of offering 2 institution-specific high-quality training programs (VNU Vietnam-Japan University). In addition, VNU modified 8 master’s curricula and 1 undergraduate program.
