11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:

The dissertation is the first project focusing on studying artistic thought presented in literary memoirs written by Vietnamese writers in the period from 1986 up to now. The dissertation does the following:

- Giving out a nuanced conception of “artistic thought in memoirs”, a literary genre which has unique characteristics in comparison to other ones, especially in terms of its close relationship with contemporary social and ideological context, artistic awareness, gender consciousness, so forth and so on.

- Sketching out the movement of Vietnamese literary memoirs  in its long history, especially in the period from 1986 up to now.

- Pointing out some characteristics of “artistic thought of Vietnamese literary memoirs from 1986 up to now” on three aspects: conceptional code of literary memoirs, artistic figures, and artistic methods.

- Contributing to exploring and identifying the advantages and disadvantages in the content and form of Vietnamese literary memoirs from 1986 up to now, so that the readers nowadays can have a good understanding and aesthetic awareness to help read them well.

The research results of the dissertation can become a treatise reference and instruction for students as well as graduate students of literature.
